The Banū Waqār Family Interactive Map

The Banū Waqār Family Interactive Map, scheduled for release in 2027, is a meticulously designed digital resource aimed at showcasing the rich history of Jewish communities in the Iberian Peninsula during the two centuries leading up to the Expulsion. This map focuses on the Banū Waqār family within the broader context of Jewish, Muslim, and Christian interactions, drawing extensively from both Jewish and Christian historical texts to create a nuanced portrayal of these complex interrelations.

The development of this map is underpinned by research data currently being compiled into a CSV database, with an application script currently being developed using the open-source Node.js framework. This setup is intended to facilitate interactive engagement and ensure robust data management. Upon completion, the entire dataset, along with the interactive map, will be made freely available through the Digital.CSIC institutional repository.
